Kurt Cobain, one of 8 in my series of paintings of artists/musicians who died before their time. Each painting in this series is of an artist whose life and work affected me in some way, inspired millions, and whose early, unexpected and tragic death sent a ripple of shock through the world. This is definitely one of my favorites of the series, as there was a moment in my life when the only relief I experienced was Nirvana in my headphones.
April 5th, 2019 marked the 25th anniversary of this tragic loss. So what I can do, as an artist, is just express my love for this artist in the only way I know how…with my art. And to share it with the world. I’ve made various sizes of prints available below, so I could make this piece more affordable. There will never be another you, Kurt. You are missed. XO, dreXeL
